A veteran who gave everything shouldn't be forgotten.
2,549 veterans rest at San Antonio National Cemetery. Last year, 345 graves went without a wreath — no visit, no flag, no name spoken. 252 of those have since been adopted, leaving 93 veterans on our priority list still waiting for someone to remember they served.
When you adopt a grave, you place a wreath at your veteran's headstone during the Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, December 19, 2026. You speak their name, their branch, their dates, and say "Thank you for your service." That moment costs $20 and includes three keepsakes bearing your veteran's name: a hand-made ornament, an engraved dog tag, and a personalized Certificate of Remembrance and Honor.
Adopt a Grave is a program of Community for Veteran Families, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving San Antonio National Cemetery at 517 Paso Hondo St, San Antonio, TX 78202.
